I trained and have been practicing as a psychodynamic counsellor for a number of years in St Albans.  My private practice is based in St Albans city centre.  where I see clients for open ended or time specific work.  More recently I have undertaken additional training and am now IAPT licenced, I take referrals for clients via the NHS for short term counselling.  I have also trained with Place 2 Be (a schools counselling service) and am able to offer counselling to adolescents and young adults as well as adults of all ages.

I am equally comfortable providing ongoing ‘open ended’ counselling to my clients or in the intial discussion we may decided to work short term i.e. for a specific amount of time be that 6 weeks or 20 weeks.

Along with my St Albans practice I currently work with children and adolescents at an Academy in central London.  Previously I spent six years working as a counsellor for HM Prison Service.

I regularly attend training seminars and talks to ensure my knowledge and practice is continuously updated and enhanced.

When seeking a psychotherapist/counsellor to work with it is important they are supported by a professional (governing) body, this ensures they have the appropriate training and experience. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP): www.bacp.co.uk and I abide by their code of ethics.

I have Enhanced DBS clearance and professional indemnity insurance.
